Where did the Summer go!?!!

Is Summer really over!?!!

Well, I didn't get a whole lot of quilting done this Summer, but I had a great time with my family and friends!  We were able to help my mother get her house packed and move her to Arizona.  We are very sad she no longer lives closer but we will have fun visiting her in Arizona

I did get this fun quilt made for one of my best friend's birthday, Colene Wall.

Even though we don't live in Florida anymore, I included several Florida items because that is where we became great friends.

She is the power walking queen.  Just try to keep up with her, you end up jogging!!! Which isn't a bad thing as long as you don't mind jogging! ;)

Colene and her husband Mike own Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolates based in Utah, so of course I had to include a chocolate!! :)

I'm teaching seminary again this year.  Seminary is a scripture study class that meets at 6:30am each school day.  I teach about 14 freshman through seniors.  They're great kids!! Our church is full of all kinds of wonderful positive energy at 6:30 in the morning.  This year we are studying the Book of Mormon.

I hope to get a lot of scrap-booking and quilting done in the next few months before Christmas! I hope to be back here soon!! Stay tuned! :)

  1. BEAUTIFUL blocks. I really love them.

I can imagine keeping up with a power walker because my husband is 6'6" tall and takes HUGE steps with those long legs and size 15 feet of his. LOL I'm only 5'6" tall, but I've forced him to feel like a turtle now while walking with me because I now have osteoarthritis in both my knees and some days a turtle could probably beat me in a race. LOL

  2. Thanks Vicki! And yes, those power walkers need to give us a break! Haha!

  3. I'm moving away from our son in December, so I was interested to hear that your mother has also moved away from you. I was feeling a bit out in left field...the natural order is for children to leave their parents, not the other way around. Nice to know I'm not alone in doing it. Oh, and I really do like that quilt you made :) Made me smile and think about cold winter mornings and hot cups of cocoa, even though there were Florida blocks in there, lol!Maybe because it's a rag quilt.
