Book of Mormon Seminary Ornaments, Better Late than Never!!

So my husband thought it a little anti-climatic to give my seminary students Christmas ornaments after Christmas.  I obviously didn't care and gave them to them anyway! :) I told them to hang them in their rooms until next Christmas. I mostly wanted them to know I hadn't forgotten about them!  In my world, January is the month I use to finish all of my unfinished Christmas projects!  At least I finish them! ;)

So, I'm a little bit in love with my owls and could not wait to make another owl quilt.  So I did!! :) I'm actually not finished with it but oh so close!!

I know I've mentioned in the past (like a long time ago) that I am going to sell my patterns.  Well, I actually am!! I'm just really really slow.  I've been working and re-working and then re-working my instructions so they make sense to everyone else.  Of course they make perfect sense to me but I'm not everyone else!! ;)
I am almost finished though! Hurrah!! :)

I Hope everyone is having a happy and peaceful time quilting or doing whatever it is you love to do!! :)

A Lot Has Happened Since that Nativity Quilt!

Love and Quilting!! :)

First of All, my son got engaged to his sweetheart!  I'm so thrilled!! He picked an awesome girl! We're excited to have her part of our family! :) Today I'm making a quilted Christmas stocking for her.  She'll be here to visit in a few days and of course needs her own stocking! :) I think a Shepherd's wife will be perfect! :)

I've been busy busy busy quilting!! I made a Norwegian quilt for my friend who gave it as a Christmas gift to her in-laws. I'm THRILLED with how it turned out!! Who knew such a cute quilt could be inspired by Norway!! My friend did... then I caught the vision!! :)

I slipped in a few Christmas pillows for my in-laws.  They came for an unexpected visit so I put the other quilts on hold and whipped up these.....in a jiffy! :)

They drove this old pickup back and forth between Colorado and Arizona for many many years!! It's a beloved pickup with many many memories.  We now have the privilege of owning it!! Lucky us!! :D

My Mother-in-law is an avid sewer and has taught me a few tricks of the trade!! She helped my husband pick out my first sewing machine! I'm still using it today!!

My brother-in-law loves fishing and hunting! :) Oops!! I guess the real big one got away! :)

After a small intermission I resumed my quilt making and made this quilt for a good friend of ours. We traveled to Idaho right before Christmas for their wedding.  What a cute couple they are.  We love this family and all of their wonderful children! :)

Christmas has been wonderful! We've loved having our children home!! I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas as well! :)

I was recently invited to attend quilt market in Pittsburgh with my two quilting sisters. I'm very excited!! I will love spending a week with them!! Can't wait! :D

It's Finished!! Hooray!! :)

This one is my husband's favorite.  The happy camel!! :D

I love to collect nativities!! This is one of the reasons I really wanted to make a nativity quilt.  Overall I'm happy with how it turned out.  I will be tweaking a couple of the patterns.  Just some minor changes I want to make.

Here are some of my other favorite nativities I've collected over the years.

I love this one! My sister, Helen, made this for me. It's made out of wool from old wool sweaters. So great!!

I absolutely love this one as well.  It has just about been my favorite one all these years.  years ago, when my son was in nursery at church, his nursery leader made it for him.  So little, soft and unbreakable for soft little hands! :)

We got this one in Peru when we went to pick up our son from his LDS mission.

This one is also an all time favorite!! My really good friend, Mike Welch made this for me.  He carves a piece each year and sends it to me.  It means so much to me.  Mike and Sue's daughter, Lori, died of breast cancer a few years back.  She brought joy and laughter to everyone she met. She was so loved by everyone who knew her.  She was actually my very first inspiration for my rag quilts.  :)

I think seminary has been catching up to me lately.  I've been extra extra tired! I don't feel like I accomplish much during the day because I'm so tired.  A new quilt idea motivates me and I can usually push through the exhaustion, so that's good! :)

I will post some new patterns in a few days.
